Privacy Policy for Freezer

Freezer ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in the Freezer application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

A. Installed Application List

To provide its core functionality (freezing and thawing apps), Freezer reads the list of applications installed on your device. This data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

B. Notification Data

If you grant notification access, Freezer may track missed notifications from frozen apps to show you a summary when they are thawed. This data is stored locally and is never shared or uploaded.

C. Usage Data

Freezer does not collect personal identifiers, location data, or browsing history.

D. Network Traffic (Local VPN)

Freezer uses Android's VpnService API to create a local, on-device VPN in order to block network access for the apps you choose to freeze. This VPN:

Runs entirely on your device and does not connect to, or route any traffic through, any external or remote VPN server.
Only affects apps you explicitly freeze. Traffic from those apps enters a local tunnel and is dropped — it is never forwarded off the device.
Does not read, inspect, log, store, or transmit the contents of your network traffic, browsing activity, or any personal data.
Records only aggregate, on-device counters (e.g. number of packets/bytes blocked) for the statistics shown in the app. These never leave your device.

You grant VPN permission through Android's standard system dialog and can revoke it at any time in Android Settings.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information collected solely to:

Enable the freezing and thawing of applications.
Synchronize app states with the home screen widget.
Provide statistics on blocked data and missed notifications.

3. Data Storage and Security

All data managed by Freezer is stored locally on your device using encrypted or protected storage (Hive/SharedPreferences). We do not use cloud storage for your app lists or notification history.

4. Third-Party Services

Freezer does not include third-party analytics (like Firebase Analytics) or advertising SDKs. No data is shared with third parties.

5. Children's Privacy

Our App is not specifically targeted at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with any data, please contact us.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
